Characters 2.1.2 update posted to App Store

I’ve just submitted the update to the iPhone App Store (it usually takes few days for approval, now it’s a waiting game). This update adds compatibility with the latest expansion:

  • Death Knight class support
  • Level 80 portrait display
  • Item icons bug fix

Now off to the Howling Fjord. Beautiful ambiance, music and visuals… Some of the Forsaken quests are too gruesome, though. Hopefully Cenarion Druids won’t find out what my Tauren did for the Horde. Enjoy the Lich King!

Rel 2.1.2 still not made available by Apple.
Apple are a lot of (good) things, but that doesn’t include ‘fast’. :p

I’m told that the latest Armory upgrade can give Safari (and Mobile Safari) fits. Characters does not seem to update for me any more; in fact, I cannot even search for characters. Perhaps WebKit isn’t happy with the Armory any more? Not that you could easily fix a WebKit issue, but I thought I’d post a data point. Thanks.

Love this app, when it works. Anyway to know when the updates are coming? The app won’t even load any more. Kicks me off as soon as I try to look at a toon

Yea I’m still having problems with crashes and scoketed items, the update hasn’t fixed anything.

I have found that, if you have a lot of characters in the app (I have 20+), the Armory locks up and won’t return data if auto-update is on. Even if I switch to Mobile Safari, it is blocked there as well. I think that this is a defense that Blizzard put in to keep other people from spidering out the Armory’s contents. I have found that, if I turn off the automatic updating, I can add and update individual characters without problems. Perhaps Rudi could add a delay factor to the automatic updates? If I could put in a three minute delay between queries, for example, it wouldn’t lock up the Armory.

@johnwillo - thanks for noticing the pattern! I’m adding an option in 3.0 where update could be set to auto-update each character individually, since update all or none is not good enough if you have dozen of characters. Update delay is a good idea, I’ll see what I can do about it.
